For there will be no dilly-dallying when the King of the Narwhals means business! Will there be a joyful reunion? Will the crew survive? Will underwater love turn the tide toward Illusionoid? Join us live at Comedy Bar for SING A SONG OF NARWHALS (A POCKET FULL OF MERMAIDS).
It’s another live show at Comedy Bar and this time we’ve got a huge lineup! Starting with the ultra-geeky NERDS WITH GUITARS!
To call Nerds with Guitars an eclectic act would be akin to calling Rush Limbaugh kind of a dick: the boys draw influence from a diverse musical background that spans forty years’ worth of recording across all genres, and derive comedic succor from the greats of nerd music: Kirby Krackle, Paul & Storm, Flight of the Conchords, and the one and only Jonathan Coulton. The result is a high-energy live show rife with nerd-worthy references to the likes of Tim Schafer, George Lucas and John Carpenter, and a bank of curiously-themed songs ranging from a defense of Daleks to a love ballad penned by a man who hasn’t left the basement in ten years.
Then! It’s Illusionoid LIVE with special guest COLIN MOCHRIE!
Tickets are only $15! Get them fast because they’re going to be gone! It’s a huge night of nerdery to kick off the Canada Day LONG WEEKEND! DON’T YOU DARE MISS IT!
Recorded live at Comedy Bar in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on April 14, 2012. From the audience suggestions of “Sealand”, “cube” and “fluorescent” comes our 24th astonishing tale… and it’s the return of the master mimic IDENTICAL QUINN! The sovereign nation of Sealand is ruled by a madman with a glowing cube of power, and only Identical Quinn (with his seamstress, Randy) can stop him. What is this cube? From whence is it’s power? Is this a tiny piece of a bigger problem… ILLUSIONOID? Don your dolphin duds for our 24th episode: THE FLUORESCENT CUBE OF SEALAND!
Recorded live at Comedy Bar in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on April 14, 2012. From the audience suggestions of “telekinesis” and “coal shoveling” comes our 22nd fable from the future. One lazy coal miner digs up trouble for all mankind as he releases a demon that grants him his greatest desire… sadly, that desire is to remain lazy and squander his new power. Magic, mining, and moments of madness… and maybe Illusionoid? It’s our 22nd episode THE POWER OF THE MINED.
