ILLUSIONOID MAKES NOW MAGAZINE’S TOP 10 COMEDY SHOWS OF 2012!

Our live show in March, which featured an introduction by movie reviewer Richard Crouse and an appearance by Food Network Canada’s John Catucci (You Gotta Eat Here), was just named as one of Toronto’s Top Comedy Shows of 2012 by Now Magazine! Thanks to Glenn Sumi for a 5 out of 5 review of the show and for including us on a list that includes Patton Oswalt, The Nerdist Chris Hardwick, Inessa Frantowski, Lennon Parham, Alec Mapa, Todd Barry, and Two Weird Ladies! Look for more live shows in 2013 as we head into a Mayan-less future!!! Illusionoid is closer every day!!

This past week saw the  BIG CITY IMPROV FESTIVAL hit Toronto, Ontario, Canada and ILLUSIONOID was a part of it! This live show was recorded October 20th, 2012 at Comedy Bar. Fenton is a detective with an uncanny ability to locate people, but can even he find a man who can teleport using beans? It’s another live show at Comedy Bar and this time we’ve got a huge lineup! Starting with the ultra-geeky NERDS WITH GUITARS!

To call Nerds with Guitars an eclectic act would be akin to calling Rush Limbaugh kind of a dick: the boys draw influence from a diverse musical background that spans forty years’ worth of recording across all genres, and derive comedic succor from the greats of nerd music: Kirby Krackle, Paul & Storm, Flight of the Conchords, and the one and only Jonathan Coulton. The result is a high-energy live show rife with nerd-worthy references to the likes of Tim Schafer, George Lucas and John Carpenter, and a bank of curiously-themed songs ranging from a defense of Daleks to a love ballad penned by a man who hasn’t left the basement in ten years.

Then! It’s Illusionoid LIVE with special guest COLIN MOCHRIE!
